Choosing the Right Wine Cabinet0 productsA wine cabinet is an important investment and it is vital for the protection of your collection that you make a sound choice. Vinotemp has been designing and assembling wine cabinets in Southern California for over 30 years. You’ll find that quality and experience shining through in every cabinet we sell. Woods and Stains Our factory can easily offer a variety of color options. Because finishes seem to go with fashion, some stains are used more often than others. For economies of scale we have standard colors, as well as semi custom and custom finishes per line. The E-line wine cabinets offer 3 styles of laminates to choose from: Latitude West Latitude East Boardwalk We have found technical veneers to be popular and offers even more creativity when designing a custom cabinet. This material brings a whole new architectural feel to the cabinets we make. They are laminates that come in steel, woods or even textures such as cement to allow us to be ultra creative and fit any environment. (Please remember that colors may look different on your monitor or other wood types.) The Reserve series offers: Cherry Dark Cherry Black Walnut Dark Walnut Natural Black Rich Brown Victorian Mahogany The Reserve series is mostly white oak, allowing more options for lighter colors while darker woods have more trouble getting the light colored stain or finish. (Please remember that colors may look different on your monitor or other wood types.) The Sonoma series offers: Cherry Rustic Cherry Vintage Cherry The Sonoma series has a Cherry wood exterior with the 3 options of stain/paint.What's lovely about this wood is the grain and reddish tint. (Please remember that colors may look different on your monitor or other wood types.) The Economy line units offer onlyDark Red Cherry, which is not translucent but covers the Red Oak or other darker wood used. The stain colors noted are only the stain colors, not the type of wood. It is the color that is applied on top of the wood. We changed our staining system to Low VOC and water based formula. R Factor The insulation used in building our wine cabinets is the best insulation available, foil-covered polyisocyanurate foam with an R-Value of 7.2. Our wine cabinets have 1.5 inches of insulation, and the total R-Value of our cabinet walls is between 11 and 12 R factor. All the seams are sealed to create an airtight environment inside our wine cabinets. We offer extra insulation when placing it in basements or garages. Remember to use the appropriate cooling unit if placed in a non interior enviroment. Construction The materials we use in building and finishing Vinotemp wine cabinets are the best in the industry in every category, and our units age well over time. For example, we have had our “Louis” unit mistaken for an “antique.” After more than 20 years in the business, we have distributed over 1,000,000 units to happy customers, many repeat customers and referrals. The better your wine cabinet is insulated and sealed, the more years of trouble-free operation your cooling system will provide. It is also important to have proper ventilation and to clean out any dust build up on a regular basis. Vinotemp’s E Series of cabinets is perfect if you’re placing the unit in a basement or garage, while the Reserve line is great for placement in very visible locations of the home. The Sonoma and alder lines makes a beautiful showpiece. Our glass door units include double-paned glass which can artistically display your wine while protecting it, with better insulation and UV protection. For increased insulation Argo filled gas can be provided. Most Vinotemp wine cabinets are constructed from white oak wood, glass and insulation materials. Standard features include premium wood, hardwood door trims, double-pane tinted glass windows, the quality insulation, and sealed seams throughout the wine cabinet. Hinges Vinotemp is the only company that offers both continuous (or piano) hinges and hidden or refrigerator hinges. Continuous hinges are incredibly effective in sealing the door. The workmanship is more time consuming assembling a continuous hinge. Refrigerator hinges have similar costs and are also available, but the continuous hinge is more reliable. We are able install the hinges seamless or invisible as an option to show no sign of either a piano or refrigerator hinge. While most units use continuous hinges, Vinotemp uses refrigerator hinges made of steel on our Sonoma Series of cabinets. This is an option on other units if you so choose. Racking We offer three choices of wine racking for our cabinets: all Redwood, cellar trellis (redwood and powder coated metal), or wood and aluminum racking. None of our racking is glued. Standard wood and aluminum racking comes standard for the Economy Series, Redwood and aluminum for our Reserve Series, and all Redwood for our Sonoma Series. We have been designing these for over 20 years and our Cellar Trellis racks have prevented many bottles from breaking during California earthquakes. The bottles rest on the wood in these cellar trellis cubicles. It should also be noted that upgrading to all-Redwood racking reduces the capacity if bottle capacity is a concern. Any of our cabinets can be customized to the type of racking you desire.Cubicle racking comes in a variety of sizes. Universal racking with 3 3/4-inch cubicles will hold most sizes of wine bottle; most Vinotemp cabinets come standard with universal racking. For maximum storage capacity, the traditional 3 3/8 size is also available. However, with new vineyards and odd bottle sizes we recommend the larger size (3 3/4) or even 4 inch racking for those with a lot of champagne storage needs. Unlike most of our competitors, Vinotemp racking will be customized specifically for your storage needs. If desired, we could design your cabinet with three different sections each with its own cubicle size. Also, the very top of the cabinet can be useful for miscellaneous bottles, boxed champagne, fine chocolates, cigars or whatever else you can think of. Our wood racks are constructed from unsealed wood which is preferred inside wine cabinets because wood sealing agents can damage the wine. The first choice in the type of wood that should be used inside a wine cabinet is Redwood. Redwood is rare and now very expensive, so you will see it being used less and less by other companies offering wine cabinets. Our Economy Series racking uses woods that are similar to the qualities of Redwood which is a mildew resistant unfinished soft wood. Glass Doors Vinotemp uses high quality glass in our cabinet doors. We also offer racking to cover the Wine-Mate cooling system to hide it from view. Venting Unlike the competition, Vinotemp wine cabinets can be configured to your exact needs. Wine cabinets need clearance space in whatever direction the exhaust is venting. Our rear exhaust wine cabinets require at least six inches of space between the wall and the wine cabinet in order for the cooling system to operate properly. Top-vent cooling systems need 10-12 inches of clearance above the cabinet. Our front-venting wine cabinets can be completely built in with beautifully made wood louvers then the back of the cabinet can be placed right up against the wall. Any Vinotemp cabinet can easily be converted to vent from the rear, top, sides or front to best accommodate the environment you need it for. With Vinotemp, you have the choice! Cooling Vinotemp wine cabinets feature custom Wine-Mate cooling systems that use electronic temperature control and have digital displays, thereby allowing you to precisely set the desired temperature inside your wine cabinet. Wine-Mate cooling systems are forced-air systems (as opposed to cold wall cooling systems). Forced air cooling units generally have lower temperature fluctuations and higher humidity levels than cold wall systems. They also tend to have less maintenance needs.Designed and assembled in the USA, Wine-Mate was the first UL-approved cooling unit for wine cabinets on the market. UL is the trusted source across the globe for product compliance. A UL symbol gives you reassurance, that the electrical inspectors approved the design of your unit. Our standard cooling units plug into standard wall outlets, and draw 3 amps of power (4 amps for the 2500 cooling unit). Extension cords used should be 14-gauge and grounded. Shipping We generally ship our wine cabinets between 3 days to 6 weeks (depending on the unit) from the time we receive your order. Custom Wine Cabinets0 productsWhat is a wine cabinet?   For over three decades, Vinotemp has been designing one-of-a-kind custom wine cabinets that meet both style and function. Our clients are always searching for a distinct level of quality and craftsmanship. Our work can be found in both residential and commercial properties including the Bellagio in Las Vegas, Ritz Carlton, House of Blues, Hard Rock Café, Gordon Ramsay Steak, and more. A wine cabinet is a furniture-style piece that is built with many of the same features like a wine cellar. It will keep your bottles at a steady temperature while maintaining proper humidity for the long-term storage of wine. It is insulated, includes racking, doors, lighting, and a cellar cooling system. Other features include a lock with key, leveling legs, and digital temperature control. A wine cabinet has the advantage of storing a large capacity of wine within a small footprint. Additionally, many wine cabinet owners find that they can keep their cabinets for many years as it requires very little maintenance. Its style and color can be customized to match the look of the space where it will be installed. Before you commit to your own custom wine cabinet, keep the following questions in mind while browsing our gallery. Take note of any existing cabinets within our gallery or website that you find appealing. How many bottles do you want to store? How big should the wine cabinet be? Would you like the cabinet to be installed freestanding or built-in? What style of door would you like? Do you have the proper electrical set up for your new cabinet? Will you require multiple independent temperature zones? What style of racking would you like? Will you be storing any oddly shaped bottles? Lastly, what is your budget for your custom cabinet? Some of Vinotemp’s most popular wine cabinet styles include an all-wood traditional wine cabinet with wood racking, modern all-glass cabinet with clear acrylic racking, a showstopping under stairs wine cabinet with brushed stainless doors, built-in wine cabinets that fit into an unused closet space, and beautiful custom wine cabinets with all glass doors and label forward horizontal wine racking. For over thirty years, Vinotemp has been a leader in the wine storage industry, offering an array of styles, materials, and finishes. Some of our bespoke wine rack projects include traditional wooden wine racks, floating wine racks, stackable wine racks, hanging wine racks, modular wine racks, wall-mounted metal peg wine racks, and floor-to-ceiling metal wine racks. There are a few factors to consider when shopping for your own complete custom wine cellar. First, determine your budget and how much you would like to allocate to racking. If you need help figuring out how much wine racking costs, please contact one of our cellar reps who can provide you with an estimate. Next, ask yourself how much wine you or your business will purchase for the year, how much is consumed right away, and estimate how much you will store long term. Will you be using these wine racks strictly as a design feature or will you be installing them inside a wine cellar with a cellar cooling system? Design is a big factor when selecting a wine rack. Do you prefer a more modern looking wine cellar with glass walls and acrylic racking? Or, do you prefer a more traditional cellar with all wood wine racking? When designing for a commercial space, consider the number of times your employees or customers will be coming in contact with your racks. If you live in an earthquake-prone area, select a wine rack that can be fitted with bracing or ties that will help to secure each bottle in place. These are just a few things to consider when figuring out which wine rack will suit your needs. For additional assistance, please do not hesitate to contact us. Here is a list of some of the wine racking that Vinotemp offers: MODERN WINE RACKS Vinotemp can appeal to the customer who prefers a sleek and modern aesthetic. Clear acrylic wine racks, metal cable racking, and wall-mounted peg wine racks all give the illusion that bottles are floating in place while providing a simple and minimal appearance. WOOD WINE RACK KITS Vinotemp has a number of modular wood wine rack kits that can be configured to fit your space. This more traditional style of wine racking has been popular for many years, provides an affordable storage solution, and never goes out of style. METAL WINE RACKS Metal wine racks are usually wall-mounted but can also be suspended in place inside a wine cabinet. Select metal wine racks can be outfitted with grips and straps that help to hold each bottle in place without damaging the label or glass. Exotic woods, larger cubicle sizes, and enhancing viewing angles on racking are some of the highlights of ordering custom wine racking from Vinotemp. Each racking component has premium detailing in rounded corners, sanded edges, beveled trims and construction that uses no glue to avoid any odor that may hinder the development of your wine. Some of our exclusive bespoke wine rack projects include traditional wooden wine racks, floating wine racks, stackable wine racks, hanging wine racks, modular wine racks, wall-mounted metal peg wine racks, and floor-to-ceiling metal wine racks. Our selection includes stylish stainless steel, smoked black stainless, mirrored, and all black finishes. We also carry units powered by thermoelectric or compressor-based cooling technology. Ducted Wine Cooling Systems11 productsDucted cooling systems supply chilled air to a wine cellar through ducts. They can be installed up to 25 ft away from the wine cellar to reduce noise and provide installation flexibility. Ducted cooling systems are designed to provide a subtle temperature between 50~65 °F for a properly insulated wine cellar. The humidity range of the refrigerated space can be maintained within 50~75% RH. These temperature and humidity ranges are optimized for long term storage of wine like that in natural caves. Multiple options of split or package ducted cooling systems can suit various installations. We now have the units that go up to 3300 cubic feet in coverage. We offer HZD-DE, SSH and DS series. Our DS units use other components such as US designed pressure controls, the best compressor European branded and the best backwards impellers that are made in Germany to improve and trust the reliability. The DS series range is over 10 years old, and they use better and quieter fans. These also use the best insulation and heavy duty sheet metal. Our first units are still in operation today. HEAT LOAD CALCULATORS Garage Ready1 products Glass Wine Cellars1 productsGlass wine cellars appeal to the most modern of wine collectors for many reasons. Their wall-to-wall glass enclosures create a stunning display and make the wine the center of attention. These glass cellars often include racking which creates the illusion that the wine is floating. This is achieved by using cable or wire racking, acrylic racking, or floor-to-ceiling metal wine racking. Glass wine cellars often include LED lights that illuminate the inside of the cellar without creating unwanted heat. Glass wine cellars can be incorporated into unused spaces, making for a stylish and smart wine storage solution. Today’s glass wine cellar does not have to be minimalistic in design or all glass. There are many different ways to incorporate glass into your wine cellar and adapt this trend to a number of different styles. Here are some of the ways Vinotemp has incorporated glass into its custom cellar designs: All glass wall: To dip your toe into this trend, try just one glass wall. This creates an inviting and luxurious look to your cellar. All glass wine cellar: To really make a statement, surround your wine with four walls of glass. Your bottles will look like a valuable artifact on display at the museum. Mixed material: The combination of glass and metal makes a bold statement in any cellar. Your wine will look like it is under high security. To add warmth to the modern look of glass add a natural or rustic element, like framing the glass with wood. For even more visual appeal, add beautiful slate or tile to the outside of the cellar. Add a glass wine cellar to your home A glass wine cellar is a beautiful addition to any home for a number of reasons. First, the illusion of glass makes the cellar appear as if it is taking up minimal space. In addition, a glass wine cellar can be incorporated into an unused area of the home such as an unused closet, under the stairs, or a corner of your living or dining room. A cooling unit can be added to your glass cellar, allowing you to store your wine long term under the proper conditions. Commercial Wine Glass Cellars If you are a restaurant, bar, hotel, or store looking for an attractive wine storage solution, consider a glass wine cabinet or cellar. Incorporating glass allows you to display bottles while keeping them under lock and key. A cellar cooling system can be added to your cellar to ensure the wine is stored at the perfect storage or serving temperature. Beautiful lighting will illuminate the inside of the cellar or cabinet, directing the customers’ eye to the wine collection. Learn more about Commercial Wine Storage by clicking here. Wine Aerators0 productsWhat Does a Wine Aerator Do? After wine has been stored for a long period of time inside a barrel or bottle, it should be allowed to breathe to reach its full potential. An aerator mixes a wine’s molecules with air, causing any undesirable compounds to evaporate. It speeds up the aeration process and also removes any sediment. The more concentrated a wine is, the more it will benefit from aeration. What is a wine cabinet? A wine cabinet is a furniture style piece that, like a refrigerator, has been insulated to maintain its internal temperature. A cellar cooling system is installed to keep the contents of the cabinet cool while the ambient temperature may be hot. Wine racking is added to organize and store bottles. Finally, locking doors prevent unwanted hands from touching your collection. A wine cabinet is the perfect storage option for those whose collection is currently a hundred bottles or more, and who anticipate their collection will grow steadily over the years. What is a Custom Wine Cellar? A wine cellar is a space that has been designed to store wine for many years. The walls and ceiling must have proper insulation as well as a vapor barrier. The door is weather grade and cut to form a tight fit. Different kinds of wine racking are added to store bottles horizontally. These elements plus a cooling system create the ideal environment for wine. A cellar is a great option for serious wine collectors who have ample space and budget. What is Custom Wine Racking? For wine enthusiasts who are trying to fit a wine cellar in an oddly shaped space or who simply want to create a beautiful wine display, Vinotemp has many custom wine racking options. Vinotemp manufactures exquisite wine racks for private homes and commercial venues. Vinotemp has been an expert in wine storage for over thirty years. Our standard wine racks use universal 3-3/4” cubicles that are perfect for most wine bottles, however, we can customize wine racks to meet the needs of your collection. Whether you’re looking for the beauty and quality of all-heart Redwood wine racks or the convenience of wine rack kits for your home or business, you’re sure to find just the right wine racking solution for your storage needs.
