Wine storage, explained

A one stop shop for wine storage

Vinotemp.com offers a wide selection of wine storage solutions and wine accessories. Our family of premium brands includes Vinotemp, Epicureanist, Apex, Element by Vinotemp, Brama and Wine-Mate.

A diverse catalog for wine lovers

Shop online 24 hours a day. The store covers wine cabinets, walk-in cabinets, wine lockers, wine rooms, wood and metal racking, custom design, and commercial and residential wine coolers and refrigerators. We also sell beverage coolers, wine and beverage dispensers, outdoor refrigerators and ice makers. If you have a cellar, Wine-Mate cooling systems come self-contained, split or ducted. The housewares category covers entertaining, serving and gifts — wine glasses and tumblers, cleaning accessories, cheese trays, corkscrews, preservers and stoppers, cigar humidors and candles. Vinotemp is also proud to offer Apex steam and saunas, including infrared.

Refrigerator, cabinet or cellar?

The enemies of wine are temperature fluctuation, direct light and vibration. Properly ageing and storing wine means beating all three, and the right answer depends on how long the bottles sit and how much room you have.

Wine cellars

If you are storing wine longer than twelve months and have the space and the budget, a cellar is the right choice. Cellars offer far larger capacity and can be insulated as well as temperature controlled.

Wine cabinets

Cabinets are a furniture-style solution built to complement the room they sit in. Like a cellar they are insulated and temperature controlled, and they protect wine from all three enemies — in considerably less space.

Wine refrigerators

When there is no room for a cellar or a cabinet, a wine refrigerator can be the perfect place to store a collection. The compact designs sit on a countertop, stand freely, or go built-in and recessed into cabinetry you already have.

Single or dual zone?

If you keep both reds and whites, consider a dual-zone refrigerator: two independent temperature zones, one for each style — or one for bottles ready to serve and the other for those being kept. If you store one type of wine, or simply do not have the space, a single-zone cooler is the more practical buy.
