LOS ANGELES, Calif. October 14, 2011 – India Hynes, president of Vinotemp International, a recognized leader in the wine storage and refrigeration industry for 25 years, was named a Finalist in the category of Best Entrepreneur, Non-Services Businesses (up to 100 Employees) in the 8th annual Stevie Awards for Women in Business. The Stevie Awards for Women in Business honor women executives, entrepreneurs, and the companies they run – worldwide.
Nicknamed the Steviesfor the Greek word “crowned,” the Stevie Awards have been hailed as the world’s premier business awards. More than 1,300 entries – a record for the competition - were submitted this year for consideration in 75 categories. Winners will be announced during a gala event at the Marriott Marquis Hotel in New York on Friday, November 11. Nominated female executives and entrepreneurs from the U.S.A and several other countries are expected to attend. The presentations will be broadcast live across the country by the Business TalkRadio Network.
Since becoming president of Vinotemp in 2005, Hynes has been a hands-on leader, entrepreneur, innovator and inventor – all while forming several crucial partnerships. As a result of smart planning during the economic downturn, Hynes acquired the assets of wine storage giant Apex to create a new company, Apex Wine Cellars & Saunas, and launched Epicureanist a company specializing in affordable, functional wine and gourmet focused items. Due to continued sales and personnel growth, Vinotemp and Apex Wine Cellars & Saunas recently opened new corporate headquarters in Irvine, California.
“My father was my business mentor and he vehemently believed that hard work, innovation, and thinking ahead with regard to technology and trends are all crucial aspects to running a successful business,” states Hynes. “I am thrilled to learn that the effort we have put into growing our businesses, and the beliefs instilled in me by my father, have been recognized by the Stevie Awards and I am honored to be a part of such an exceptional group of Finalists.”
Finalists were chosen by business professionals worldwide during preliminary judging. Members of the six final judging committees will select Stevie Award winners from among the Finalists during final judging.
“Women entrepreneurs and executives continue to innovate, excel, and impress,” said Michael Gallagher, president of the Stevie Awards. “Regardless of general economic conditions, the achievements of women-owned and – run organizations around the world remain high, and are reflected in this year’s impressive body of Finalists.”
